The spectre of ‘anti-nationalism’ haunting Indian higher education

The New Internationalist published the following article by members of InSAF India tracing the case of a university lecturer at the Central University of Kerala, dismissed from his position for supposedly spreading ‘anti-Indianism’ amongst students. We look at the absurdities of this particular case, and sketch the broader implications of an academic culture that alarmingly privileges patriotism and blind allegiance to the ruling party over independent, critical thought and debate.
